A simple idea since 2008: converting a PDF into an editable document should be free, fast and private.
ConvertPDFtoWord.net was launched in 2008 as one of the first free online PDF to Word converters. Since then, students, office workers and businesses around the world have used it to turn CVs, contracts, reports, theses and invoices back into editable documents.
In 2026 the service was rebuilt from the ground up on a new conversion engine:
- Layout-aware conversion that recreates paragraphs, tables and images as real Word elements.
- Automatic OCR for scanned documents, with detection of the language and writing system.
- Native right-to-left support for Arabic, Persian, Urdu and Hebrew — a rare feature among free converters.
- Privacy first: files are processed on our own servers, never sent to third parties, and deleted after one hour. No account needed.
